Last week during the Austin music scene’s annual Free Week, los grillos happened upon Black Congress, a band out of Houston that plays some serious noise rock. The band was intense (but pretty funny in some between song banter), and the music didn’t just surround me but scraped and crawled its way into my head and rattled my brain. I dug it, and if you’re a fan of the noise rockin’ bands that came out of the 80′s underground, you’ll dig it too ’cause these guys rock like a fuckin’ Unsane Jesus Lizard.
“Davidians” is a 7″ single that came out on Team Science Records, but it looks like it’s out of print. The band’s latest 7″ single, “Defeated,” is out now on Death Exclamations Records.
